About
What does “haecceity” mean?
“Haecceity” is a philosophical term used to describe the aspects of a person/place/thing which make it a specific, unique person/place/thing. It is a culmination of all the things that make someone (or something) an individual.
How do you pronounce “haecceity”?
Heck-see-it-ee.
Who is this Erica person, anyway?
I’m Erica Schoonmaker. I’m a designer and I currently work for a startup in San Francisco, but I grew up in the amazing metropolis of New York City. (And I’m a very proud native New Yorker, fair warning!) I live in a small apartment with my boyfriend and our fat cat named Chief. I have Type-1 Diabetes and wear an insulin pump. I’m a redhead. I wear glasses because I literally can’t see my hand in front of my face. I’m a huge nerd.
Haecceity.nu is my blog, my little space on the web where I write about whatever the hell I want. This tends to be a wide array of topics, as I have many interests which include, but are not limited to: graphic design, web design, html/css, letterpress, fashion, beauty, gaming, baking, writing, literature, feminism, philosophy, travel, life, the universe, and everything. Check the categories to find posts that interest you!
I can be found on almost any social network, too: Twitter, Goodreads, Last.fm, Flickr, Instagram, Formspring, LinkedIn, Dribbble, Behance, Tumblr, and Yelp.
